Wunderschönes Graz! Ich durfte es für zwei Tage besuchen und habe euch natürlich mitgenommen. Es war eigentlich ein totaler Zufall, dass ich nach Graz gekommen bin. Dank dem Rolling Pin Magazin und dem Austria Food Blog Award bin ich im Genuss zu dieser wundervollen Erfahrung gekommen.
Graz Food Festival
In Graz fand vom 12. – 19 August das Food Festival statt. Man konnte mehrere Events besuchen, es gab über 20 zur Auswahl und man konnte ganz nach kulinarischem Interesse entscheiden. Ich wurde zu einem eingeladen, was sehr interessant gewesen ist und ich wahrscheinlich nie auf die Idee gekommen wäre allein dort hin zu gehen.
Ein 7-Gang Dinner, nach dem Motto „Kulinarisches Mittelalter“. Also ich habe mir noch nie viele Gedanken gemacht, was im Mittelalter verspeist wurde. Wenn man sich damit mal auseinandersetzt, dann könnte man sich damit Stunden beschäftigen. -Oder ich zumindest.- Während dem Dinner hatten wir thematische Vorträge, Leinwände zeigten Fotos und Bilder und auch Fragen konnte man stellen.
Bevor ich euch ein paar Fotos vom Dinner zeige, möchte ich euch erstmal mein Hotelzimmer vorstellen. Es war groß, hell und ich wäre am liebsten eingezogen. Untergekommen bin ich im Grand Hotel Wiesler, welches nicht nur eine gute Lage hat.

Beim Betreten des Hotelszimmers war ich positiv überrascht. Es war entzückend, für mich lag eine persönliche Notiz auf dem Tisch und das Badezimmer war größer als meines Zuhause. 😀
Kennt ihr dieses Gefühl irgendwo hin zu kommen und sich gleich wohl zu fühlen? So war es bei mir. Leider hat es ziemlich geregnet und ich musste gleich weiter. Ich hatte nämlich die Ehre Alfons Schuhbeck zu treffen. Ich war gar nicht so sehr aufgeregt, wahrscheinlich weil ich den ganzen Tag schon Aktion hatte.
Ihr wisst ja schon, dass ich sehr gesprächig bin. Ich habe einige Persönlichkeiten kennengelernt, aber ganz besonders habe ich mich über die Bekanntschaft mit Ulli Glettler gefreut. Wenn man eine Person als cool bezeichnen kann, dann sie!
Nach dem Treffen und Interview mit Alfons Schuhbeck ging es weiter mit dem Dinner. 7 Gänge bekomme ich nicht so oft aufgetischt und dann auch schon gar nicht in solcher Runde. Nur um ein kleines Beispiel zu nennen, bevor man zu seinem Tisch gebracht wurde, sollte man sich die Hände waschen. Mit lauwarmen Rosenwasser. Eigentlich gar nicht so schlecht, denn vor dem Essen sollte man sich sowieso die Hände waschen. Es kam dennoch sehr überraschend.
Gang 1 – Schüttelbrot mit Schmalz dazu Kirschsauce und Essigsenfsauce
Gang 2 – Fisch, Kichererbsen und Saubohnen
Gang 3 – Würste, Sauerkraut und Rüben
Gang 4 – Blanc Manger
Gang 5 – Granatapfel-Granité
Gang 6 – Fasan und Linsen
Gang 7 – Zweierlei süße Krapfen
Bei so viele Gläser und Besteck kann man schon mal leicht überfordert sein. Bei jedem Gang wurde die Tischdekoration etwas erweitert und das Licht wurde immer schwacher. Vielleicht habe ich mir letzteres auch nur eingebildet, durch den wenigen Schlücken an Wein könnte das gut sein. Ich trinke und vertrage nicht viel Alkohol und wenn ich in einer fremden Stadt ganz allein bin, dann bin ich gleich doppelt so vorsichtig.
Neben dem Dinner, wo ich einiges aussortieren musste weil ich kein Schweinefleisch und generell in den letzten Jahren bedacht esse, hatte ich eine sehr nette Sitzgesellschaft.
Auch nach dem Dinner blieb ich noch etwas sitzen und es wurde ein sehr, sehr langer Abend. Ich bin es gar nicht mehr gewohnt, dass Abende so lang werden können und wie im Flug vergehen. Um euch keine genaue Uhrzeit nennen zu müssen, ich weiß sie natürlich, kann ich euch verraten, dass ich schlafen gegangen bin, als die Sonne wieder aufgegangen ist. Blöd für mich nur, dass ich nach 3 Stunden wieder aufstehen musste. Der Koffer musste wieder verschlossen werden und auf ein Frühstück konnte ich nicht verzichten, auch wenn mein Hunger sich in Grenzen hielt.
Nach dem Frühstück habe ich meinen Koffer im Hotel abgegeben, durch Graz wollte ich ihn nicht hinter mir herziehen und habe mich etwas umgesehen. Ganz ohne Plan, einfach dorthin wo mich mein Herz hinführt. Dafür, dass ich keinen Plan hatte, bin ich ganz zufrieden. Graz ist wirklich nicht groß und man schafft an einem Nachmittag recht viel zu sehen.
Natürlich habe ich mir auch zwischendurch etwas zu essen besorgt. Aber so einen richtigen Appetit habe ich den ganzen Tag nicht verspürt. Deshalb gab es mehr Kleinigkeiten für mich.
Und am Abend ging es schließlich zurück nach Wien. Da die Tage davor alles andere als ruhig waren, konnte ich während der Zugfahrt mal richtig nachdenken. Und fast einschlafen…immerhin war es schon recht spät.
