Süßer Orangen-Couscous

Plötzlich kam der Heißhunger auf etwas Süßes. Still und heimlich bin ich, weit nach Mitternacht, in die Küche getapst, habe die Küchenschränke gründlich untersucht, Schokolade, Nüsse und weitere Süßigkeiten entdeckt, aber nichts gefunden, worauf ich richtig Appetit hatte. Der Geistesblitz kam und ich wusste es, ich brauche unbedingt Milchreis!!!!

 
Milchreis, schon sehr komisch, denn eigentlich esse ich diesen überhaupt nicht so gerne.
Mit einem Grummeln im Bauch stellte ich mich auf den Stuhl, um im hohen (Nudel und Reis)Schrank zu wühlen. Gefühlt tausende Nudelsorten fielen mir fast entgegen, aber kein Reis.
Hatte ich denn wirklich vergessen neuen Reis einzukaufen?? Das Grummeln wurde lauter und eine neue Idee musste schnell, sehr schnell her!
 

Die Königin der Rezepte ist die Phantasie ♥

 
Improvisieren kann ich gut. Daher wurde der Reis einfach durch Coucous ersetzt. Da dieser aber eher zu Fleisch, Fisch und Gemüse gereicht wird, musste ich ihm eine neue Hauptrolle geben, eine süße.
Nun gab es nur noch ein kleines Problem, passen Milch und Couscous wirklich gut zusammen???
Ich fand nein und entschied mich für eine fruchtig-orientalische Alternative.
Ich liebe die Aromen von Zimt, Sternanis und Vanille, ich war Feuer und Flamme für meine neue Kreation und freute mich schon aufs Verkosten, mitten in der Nacht.
 

Orangen-Couscous mit Apfelmus

Für 4 Portionen:
Es wird benötigt:
♥250g Couscous
♥300ml Orangensaft
♥3 Sternanis
♥1/2 Vanilleschote
♥1 TL Zimt
♥2 Nelken
♥ca. 100g Apfelmus
 
 
Zubereitung:
Den Orangensaft sanft in einem Topf erwärmen, er sollte nicht aufkochen. Sternanis, Nelken, Zimt hinzugeben. Die Vanilleschote auskratzen und auch das Mark mit zu dem Orangensaft geben. Wenn der Orangensaft gut erwärmt ist, um die 60°C, den Topf von der Kochstelle nehmen, den Couscous hinein rieseln lassen, zwei bis dreimal umrühren und den Couscous, gut abgedeckt, circa 10 Minuten ruhen lassen.
 
Wer die Wartezeit etwas überbrücken möchte, der darf sich einen leckeren Zimtzucker herstellen.
♥1 TL Zimt
♥8 EL Zucker
Beides zusammenmischen. Wenn man möchte, darf noch etwas Vanille mit hinzu.
 
Der Couscous hat nun den ganzen Orangensaft aufgenommen und darf auch schon gleich serviert werden, aber bitte vorher die Nelken und den Sternanis raus“fischen“.
Alles nach belieben in kleine Schalen mit Apfelmus und Zimtzucker servieren.
 
Kann warm, sowohl auch kalt gegessen werden. Bitte kühl lagern (im Kühlschrank) und in zwei Tagen aufbrauchen.

  1. Liebe Pfefferminzia. Couscous und Milch passen hervorragend zusammen, ich mach mir das oft an kalten Tagen zum Frühstück. Ich finde es wärmt so schön. Dafür nehme ich ca. 300ml Milch und erwärme sie im Topf, dazu gebe ich noch eine kleine Zimtstange. Dann über ca. 125g Couscous geben und warten bis alles aufgesogen wurde. Das kann man ganz toll verfeinern, z.B. mit Rosinen, Datteln, Obst….etc. Probier das mal aus, schmeckt wirklich super. Auch mit bisschen Zimt/Zucker drüber. Auch Nüsse passen super. Couscous mit O-Saft kenne ich auch, hab ich auch schon gemacht. Wobei es mir ehrlich gesagt, mit Milch besser schmeckt. Liebe Grüße 🙂
