Taufchaos und Koulourakia

Eine Menge ist geschehen, eine Weile ist vergangen. Viel und doch wieder nichts, aber dennoch einiges was ich euch erzählen möchte. Neben Rezepten fülle ich meinen Blog auch gerne mit privaten Erlebnissen und Einblicken. Ich bekomme so viel von euch, dass ich euch sehr gerne mit in meine kleine Welt nehme. Die einen langweilt es vielleicht, aber ich weiß, dass von euch ganz viele sehr gespannt sind und gerne lesen was ich so treibe. 🙂

In diesem Post möchte ich euch gerne von meinen letzten Wochen berichten. Über die griechisch-orthodoxe Taufe meiner Kinder und über unsere Osterkekse, die Koulourakia. Welche Torte für die Taufe gebacken wurde? & einiges mehr erzähle ich euch sehr gerne 🙂 ♥

Die Taufe (28. März 2015)
 

Im Jänner haben mein Mann und ich beschlossen, dass wir nun „endlich“ die Kinder taufen lassen möchten. Viele Kinder werden schon in ihrem ersten Lebensjahr getauft, aber immer häufiger kommt es vor, dass die Taufe später stattfindet. Da ich griechisch-orthodox bin und mein Mann rumänisch-orthodox getauft ist, kam für uns nur eine orthodoxe Taufe in Frage.

Mein Mann ließ mir komplett freie Hand bei der Planung und dem Ablauf der der Taufe.
Mitte Jänner bekam ich schließlich den Termin für unsere Taufe, den 28. März.
Für uns ein gutes Datum, da es der Beginn der Osterferien war und uns das Datum gleich gefiel.
Einen bitteren Beigeschmack gab es allerdings, denn es fiel mitten in Fastenzeit. In der orthodoxen Fastenzeit wird auf tierische Produkte verzichten und Mittwochs und Freitags auch auf Öl. Da unsere Gäste sehr multikulturell waren, konnten wir in aller Ruhe ein schönes Buffet planen, welches ein befreundeter Koch für uns zubereitet hat. Es gab sowohl vegane Speisen. als auch Fleisch, Dips, verschiedene Brote und eine riesige Auswahl an griechischen Speisen. So hatte jeder die Wahl zu fasten oder sich ordentlich den Bauch vollzuschlagen. 🙂

Noch viel wichtiger als das Essen ist die Wahl der Taufpaten.

Die Taufpaten werden nicht nur mit in die Familie aufgenommen, sondern übernehmen auch neben der Eltern eine wichtige Rolle für die Patenkinder ein. Sollte jemals den Eltern etwas geschehen, sodass sie nicht mehr in der Lage sind sich um die Kinder zu sorgen, so geht dieses „Amt“ an die Taufpaten über. Die Taufpaten unserer Kinder sind auch gleichzeitig unsere Trauzeugen. Wir würden ihnen die Kinder blind anvertrauen und sind sehr froh und gerührt, dass sie von nun an das Leben unserer Kinder mit Schritt für Schritt begleiten werden.
Den Tag vor der Taufe fing ich an die Torte zu backen. Wie immer war ich relativ spät dran, ich weiß nicht warum, vielleicht mag ich den Nervenkitzel so sehr, aber ich nehme mir immer zu wenig Zeit für meine Torten. Tausendmal habe ich mir schon geschworen für die nächste Torte mehr Zeit einzuplanen, nie wurde es von mir eingehalten. 😀
Die untere Etage war ein Schokoladenbiskuit mit Vanille-Schokoladenstückchen-Füllung.
Die obere Etage war ein heller Vanillebiskuit mit Marillen-Pfirsich-Füllung.

Eigentlich gab es noch eine dritte Etage, die ganz nach oben gehörte. Nur leider kam der Kuchenhunger meines Sohnes dem Kuchen in die Quere, sodass er noch vor dem Eindecken angeknabbert wurde. Als ich das sah war ich zuerst schockiert, doch dann musste ich einfach drüber lachen.

Das sollte aber wohl nicht das einzige Erlebnis bleiben, bei welchem ich kurzzeitig schockiert gewesen bin…

Der Papas lies auf sich warten…
Wir Eltern, die Täuflinge und die Taufpaten sollten sich mit dem Papas (dem Erzpriester) um 12 Uhr vor der Kirche treffen, die Gäste sollten dann gegen 12:30 Uhr dazukommen und um 13 Uhr sollte die Taufe stattfinden. Minuten für Minute ziehen ins Land, am Telefon des Papas ging niemand und es wurde immer kälter. Eine gefühlte Ewigkeit, in der ich schon mit Tränen und zittern kämpfen musste, da ich über meinen Kleid nur einen dünnen Strickblazer trug,

Als mein Mann mich damals kennengelernt hat war ich nicht die pünktlichste, bei unserem ersten Date kam ich sage und schreibe 2 Stunden zu spät. Bei unserer Hochzeit haben wir es ganz knapp noch geschafft pünktlich anzukommen, das andere Brautpaar, welches nach uns getraut werden sollte, stand schon bereit… Aber ich habe mich in den Jahren gebessert, ehrlich. 🙂 Ich plane mir nun alles so, dass ich immer 20 Minuten früher da bin und dazu auch noch die Minuten, die ich im Stau stehe, auf die U-Bahn warte oder ich noch schnell zum nächsten Bäcker rein muss, weil mich der Geruch frischer Semmeln nicht mehr klar denken lässt.

14:15 Uhr…
Langsam machte ich mir sorgen. Um die Gäste, die in der Kälte mit uns warten mussten, um den Papas ((vielleicht ist im etwas geschehen auf den Weg zur Kirche??)) und um die Taufkinder, die langsam nicht mehr warten wollten. Mein Mann fragte mich ob ich vielleicht den Termin verwechselt habe, aber bei aller Unpünktlichkeit die ich je besessen habe, wenn ich mir etwas merken kann, dann sind es Termine. Nicht ich, sondern der Papas hat den Termin vergessen, wie wir es dann von dem netten Kirchenpersonal erfuhren, welches eigentlich nur kam um die morgige Sonntagsmesse aufzubauen und vorzubereiten. Sie ließen uns in die Kirche, erreichten den Papas und bauten den Taufaltar und das Taufbecken auf.

Langsam tauten nicht nur wir, sondern auch die angespannte Stimmung wieder auf.
Ich holte die Ölflaschen, die goldenen Kreuze, die Handtücher, die Taufkerzen und Taufkleidung aus meiner Tasche und brachte jedes Teil an den dafür vorgesehenen Platz.Um circa 15 Uhr kam der Papas endlich an. Wie wir von ihm erfuhren, er hat sich übrigens 1000 Mal auf griechisch und deutsch für den vergessenen Termin entschuldigt, war er gar nicht im Wien, sondern eine Ostermesse in Niederösterreich vorbereiten.

( Einzelheiten der Taufe wären wirklich zu lang und wahrscheinlich uninteressant für euch, immerhin ist dies ja ein Koch- und Backblog. 🙂 )
Sie war wunderschön, traditionell, so wie ich es mir gewünscht habe wurde sie auf griechisch und deutsch abgehalten. Ein Erlebnis, welches die Kinder und wir nie vergessen werden. 🙂

Beim Verlassen der Kirche dürfte sich jeder Gast ein Gastgeschenk nehmen. Die Gastgeschenke habe ich ein paar Wochen vor der Taufe hergestellt. Mit einen kleinem Anhänger gegen den Bösen Blick und einem kleinen Schmetterling wurde jedes einzelne Geschenk von mir verschönert und behangen. 5 Mandeln sind im jeden goldenen Säckchen zu finden, 5 Mandeln die für Glück, Liebe, Erfolg, Gesundheit und Segen stehen. Bitter und süß wie das Leben. Eine Tradition, die bei griechischen Taufen vorkommt, aber auch viele andere Länder teilen diesen schönen Brauch.
Danach ging es zur Feier. Wir hatten einen Funroom gemietet, damit die Kinder sich ausgiebig bewegen und spielen und die Erwachsenen in aller Ruhe das Buffet plündern konnten. 😉
Die Feierlichkeiten endeten um 21 Uhr, einige mit kleinen Kindern verließen die Runde schon etwas früher. Es war sehr schön und familiär, so wir es von uns erhofft und gewünscht hatten.
So verwirrend die Taufe angefangen hat, so wunderschön hat sie geendet. ♥
Koulourakia
 
 
Koulourakia sind ein griechisches Buttergebäck, welches traditionell zu Ostersonntag gereicht wird.
Das orthodoxe Osterfest fand in diesem Jahr am 12. April statt, somit eine ganze Woche nach dem katholischen und evangelischen Osterfest.
Für 2- 3 Bleche.
Folgende Zutaten werden benötigt:
♥300g Butter, weich
♥5 Eier (M)
♥2 Pck. Vanillezucker
♥1 Pck. Backpulver
♥1 TL Salz
♥250g Zucker
♥100ml lauwarme Milch oder lauwarmes Wasser
♥770g Mehl, feines
♥1/2 TL Bittermandel Aroma
♥1 TL Vanilleextrakt
Zubereitung:
Butter, Eier, Vanillezucker und Zucker miteinander schaumig rühren.
Salz, Bittermandel Aroma, Vanilleextrakt vorsichtig unterrühren.
Das Mehl mit dem Backpulver vermengen und abwechselnd mit Milch/Wasser unter den Teig kneten.
Ich benutze dafür am liebsten meine Küchenmaschine, aber das auch nur aus Faulheit 😀
Die Koulourakia gelingen auch ohne.
Es sollte ein schöner fester Teig entstehen, der nicht mehr klebt. Ist er zu fest kommt ein Schlückchen Milch/Wasser hinzu, ist er zu weich und klebt, dann noch etwas Mehl.
Den Ofen auf 200°C (Ober/- Unterhitze) vorheizen.
Der Teig eignet sich zum Ausrollen und Ausstechen von Keksen. Ihr könnt aber auch dünne Schnüre rollen, diese auf 7cm anpassen und verdrehen. Manche legen Schnecken, andere verknoten sie, da gibt es keine Vorschrift. 🙂 Ich drehe und flechte sie gerne.
Die Kekslein auf ein mit Backpapier belegtes Backblech geben, wer möchte kann die Kekse vor dem Backen mit verquirltem Ei oder etwas Milch bestreichen und diese anschließend für circa 10 Minuten backen. Leicht goldbraun sind sie perfekt.
Sie werden zu Kaffee und Kakao serviert und darin auch gerne eingetunkt.
