Karfiol heißt er in Österreich, Blumenkohl in Deutschland. Egal wie man ihn nennen mag, oftmals ist er sehr fad zubereitet. Nur gekocht, leider auch oft überkocht. Dabei muss eine Zubereitung nicht aufwendig sein um einen schmackhaften Karfiol zu erhalten.

Kaum Gewürze, aber dafür die Richtigen. Den gebackenen Karfiol mögen sogar meine Kinder sehr gerne, die ihn anders zubereitet nur ungerne essen. Bis auf meine jüngste Tochter, sie ist ihn auch roh. 😀

Übrigens, die Blätter kommen nicht weg! Diese zu entsorgen wäre mehr als schade. Sie schmecken krautig und man könnte aus ihnen auch ein prima Pesto herstellen.

Nie mehr langweiligen Karfiol I aromatisch gebacken mit Blätter

Für 4 Personen.

Folgende Zutaten werden benötigt:

  • 1 Karfiol
  • 2-4 EL Olivenöl
  • 1/2 Zitrone
  • etwas Meersalz
  • Prise schwarzer Pfeffer
  • 30-40 g Mandeln
  • 150 g Feta Ersatz

Außerdem:

Zubereitung:

Den Karfiol vorsichtig putzen. Grob zerschneiden, die Blätter bleiben dran. Eventuell den Strunk entfernen, dieser könnte zu hart bleiben. Die Karfiolstücke in einer Auflaufform verteilen.

Den Ofen auf 180°C Ober- und Unterhitze vorheizen.

Eine halbe Zitrone pressen. Olivenöl und Zitronensaft über den Karfiolstücken verteilen. Ebenso Meersalz und Pfeffer.

Für 15 Minuten backen. In der Zwischenzeit wie Mandeln grob hacken.

Mandelstücke und den Feta Ersatz, am besten diesen bröseln, auf den heißen Karfiol geben. Nochmals für 10 Minuten backen. Je nach Größe der Stücke könnte es auch ein paar Minuten mehr in Anspruch nehmen.

Servieren und mit Olivenöl garnieren. Dazu passt: Reis, Kartoffelpüree und verschiedene Saucen. Ich mag dazu sehr gerne diesen Zucchini Dip und frisches Pfannenpita.
